Beloved Writer and Friend,

Have you been struggling for months, years, or even decades to finally write your memoir?

Do you feel a sense of writer's block that might be inhibiting you from sharing your stories because of unrecognized, undealt-with grief, shame, or pain?

Are you confused about how to structure your memoir, and overwhelmed by all the stories and ideas in your mind, wondering how to narrow it down to one cohesive, cogent story?

If this resonates with you, then this New Moon Ancestral Memoir Circle is for you.

What is An Ancestral Memoir?

I realized not so long ago, after taking my ancestral constellation training, that for well over a decade, many of the best memoirs I’ve encountered were deeply informed by ancestry.

These books often carry with them the backstories of generations before the author— as well as the ties to the living earth, to the trees, the mountains, the pathways, the land, and how all of this, too, becomes part of the ancestry.

Books like Joy Harjo's Crazy Brave and Leslie Marmon Silko's Ceremony and The Turquoise Ledge,  Perdita Finn's Take Back the Magic and Sophie Strand's The Body is a Doorwayall exemplify this kind of writing, where ancestral connections form the heart of the story. These books are filled with stories not only from the author's life but also stories from the earth, from the spirit, from the soul of the land.

As a teacher and story facilitator for 23 years, I have seen firsthand how the most transformative and powerful memoirs often come from those who weave in their ancestral stories.

Many of my best students accessed deep wisdom and clarity in their writing by connecting with their ancestors and integrating their histories into their narratives.

This is why I feel called to bring this work to you: to help you tap into that profound connection, access your ancestral stories, and allow those stories to inform your memoir.

So many of my students and clients have been moved to include their ancestral stories in their books.

For many years, I would have an outside family constellation facilitator work with my clients to help them clear the path for their writing.

I'm thrilled now that I have been trained in this modality that I can offer it to my students myself.

This work—like the constellations themselves—helps people focus on the stories that truly need to be told in their memoirs.

This New Moon Circle; Ancestral Memoir will be a space for those of you who have been trying to write your memoir for ages, seeking clarity and guidance.

We will work on uncovering the stories that should be or could be the Body of your Book, and we will also help Constellate the Spirit of the Book.

What Does It Mean to "Constellate the Spirit of the Book"?

This work is about more than just telling stories—it’s about listening to the Spirit of your Book. A book, like a tree, like land, like a human, has a spirit. And, just like anything living, it has its own needs, wants, and desires. I will guide you in constellating the spirit of your book, working with the ancestors and acknowledging the energy that the book itself holds.

This Circle Is For You If…

You’ve been struggling to write your memoir for months, years, or even decades, feeling stuck or blocked in some way.

You feel that you can’t move forward because you haven’t been able to address undealt-with grief, shame, or painwithin your body.

You are confused about how to structure your memoir, feeling overwhelmed by the many stories and ideas in your mind and unsure of how to narrow them down into one clear, cohesive narrative.

You are longing for a way to connect with your ancestors, ask for their guidance, and allow their wisdom to shape your writing process.

What Will You Get From This Circle?

In this New Moon Circle, we will focus on uncovering your Fire and Bone stories—those stories that burn with intensity and heat in your body. These are the stories that feel “hot” because of the passion, the pain, or the energy that surrounds them. They are your most catalytic stories, the ones worth writing about, even though they may feel difficult to approach.

You will leave this circle with:

  • At least one firearm bone story that you can begin to outline and develop.

  • An understanding of how to outline from the body and structure your memoir in a way that is deeply aligned with your soul’s journey.

  • The tools to constellate the spirit of your book, tuning into the deeper energies of your memoir and allowing that to shape your writing.

  • A deeper sense of connection to the long story of your soul and the long story of your ancestors' souls.

What We’ll Be Doing Together

Constellating the Spirit of Your Book:

You’ll work with another participant in a dyad to represent the spirit of the book. This is an opportunity to listen deeply to the essence of your book and share this spirit with another person, offering clarity and direction.

Writing from the Body:

We will engage in somatic writing, allowing the body to inform the stories that need to be told. This work is all about connecting with the fire stories and bone stories that reside in you and your ancestors, stories that are held deep in the body.

The Fire and Bone Stories:

These are the stories that burn with intensity—whether from passion, pain, or momentous life shifts. They are your page-worthy stories, the ones you may find hardest to write but also the ones that carry the most power. We will explore these fire and bone stories in a group setting, which can be extremely healing.

Bone Stories:

Your bone stories are the stories most enduring. Even when a body is cremated or put in the ground, the bones are the last part of the body to decompose. They often hold our deepest,  stories—the ones that transcend time and generations. We will work with these stories through somatic and ancestral writing practices.

You Will Walk Away With…

A clearer understanding of your memoir’s structure and some of the stories that will make up the body of the book.

Tools to help you work with the fire stories and bone stories that are both deeply personal and ancestrally rooted.

A greater sense of connection to your ancestors and the stories they hold for you.

A powerful shift in how you approach your writing, freeing you from blocks and fears that have held you back.

Kind words about Tanya’s Ancestral Work:

I had never heard of constellation work, but I had worked with Tanya before (on writing my book) and trusted her. I had a profound experience during our ninety-minute session. When I reached out to Tanya, I told her I wanted to work on fear. I’ve carried a lot of fear in my body since childhood, particularly because my ancestry comes from a persecuted group. The fear I walk around with doesn’t match my daily life, which is filled with love and beauty. I wanted to address a significant disconnect between my inner and outer world.

During the session, Tanya guided me through a process where I connected with ancestors who were both specific and general. With each ‘star’ we visited in the constellation, I had somatic sensations—some contracting, some expanding. I felt intense emotions, both pleasant and unpleasant, as we moved through six nodes in the constellation. Clearly, something was shifting.

At the end of the session, when Tanya explained who each of the nodes represented, I felt dramatic relief, especially regarding my immediate family. It also gave me valuable insight into core beliefs I held about my family system. Tanya is a gifted facilitator in both Ancestral Constellation work and writing. I highly recommend her.

Writer and Sculptor

Working with Tanya in the Family Constellation session was truly transformative. The session helped me uncover profound insights, like the surprising image of a ‘wall’ representing my drive—something I never would have imagined. Tanya’s unique approach, using rocks to symbolize forces in my life, created a powerful and deeply healing experience. I left feeling a renewed sense of clarity and inner safety that continues to guide me.

I especially appreciated the support and connection that emerged, particularly with the well ancestor who stood behind me, offering a deep sense of guidance. The experience opened up new internal space to explore my drive and limitations in ways I never thought possible. I highly recommend Tanya’s constellation work to anyone seeking insight, healing, and a deeper connection to their own story.

Author, Award-Winning Science Writer, College Professor

I’m so grateful for my experience with Family Ancestral Constellations. From the start, I felt deeply aligned with the process and trusted Tanya completely as a facilitator (she helped me write my memoir), which made the journey both safe and exciting.

Before the session, I was dealing with heavy family matters during a stressful time. After the session, I felt a calm, quiet peace settling in. It was incredibly healing to connect with my ancestors in such a personal and vivid way. The moment I realized I’m supported by a long line of family, it felt like my family tree reached out and gave me a hug. 🌱💗

Since then, I’ve noticed a shift—I’m calmer, more grounded, and more open to receiving love and kindness from everywhere. I no longer feel alone in my journey.

I highly recommend this service to anyone seeking deep healing. Tanya’s facilitation is so supportive, creating space for new insights about ourselves and our ancestral connections. Thank you, Tanya, for guiding me with such care and presence. I’m deeply grateful.

It is a rare experience for me to find a collaborator such as Tanya to do my deep work. She has an incredible capacity for insight and the ability to hold space for what is, meeting me exactly where I am.

My first constellation session was clear, efficient, and abundant—giving me food for thought that continues to reveal itself. In this crazy world, wondering how one can contribute, working with Tanya in this way feels like its own necessary and important form of activism—for both of us.

— Sarah Kerstin Gross

Caterer, Writer, Mystic

Working with Tanya Taylor Rubinstein on ancestral constellation was truly transformative. I’ve done ancestral healing for years, mostly focusing on ancient, healed ancestors, but Tanya’s approach focused on the recent ancestors—those still carrying unresolved trauma.

During our blind constellation, the focus turned to my father and paternal grandfather, a man I knew little about. Through the process, I gained deep insight into how my father’s relationship with his own father mirrored the struggles I had with him. I also developed a new empathy for my grandfather’s wounds—his anger and criticism of his children—and saw how that energy had been passed down.

Most powerfully, I began to recognize gifts from my father I had overlooked before. This work is helping me heal and shift how I move through the world. If you’re ready to heal generational wounds and rewrite family narratives, I highly recommend Tanya’s work. It’s a powerful way to shift old patterns and gain a deeper understanding of your family’s story.

Tanya holds impeccable space that is steeped in the sacred—specifically connected to and deeply held by the wisdom of the land and the helpful ancestors who have come before us.

Working with her gave me insight into a pattern I had been operating from since childhood. Once identified, I could feel my system being ‘unburdened’ by the weight I had been carrying.

A subtle release has been occurring since our session, and I feel I now have much greater access to my inner wisdom and higher self. I’ve also been able to set important boundaries with people from whom I had previously tolerated unhealthy behavior.

I feel much more inner authority, and life feels a bit easier. I am hopeful for what lies ahead.

— Jenn Tasnine Savage

Mystic, Intuitive Guide & Spiritual Healer

Before the session, I felt overwhelmed by emotional and spiritual heaviness, stuck in patterns I couldn’t break. After the Ancestral Constellations session, I felt a powerful shift—lighter, with an emotional release that wasn’t sad but deeply freeing. The session illuminated my family’s dynamics and the ancestral ties that were holding me back. It was eye-opening and affirming.

I’ve noticed lasting changes in my attitude and how I relate to family. I highly recommend this transformative work to anyone ready to heal and move forward in their lives. Tanya is an amazing facilitator, with incredible insight and depth.
